Daily Action Plan
The Daily Action Plan is comprised of 6 parts:
At the start of everyday, write the date on a piece of paper and along with the statement: “I create my day.” Below begin listing at least 3 things you are excited about accomplishing, 3 things you need to accomplish, 3 things are neutral about accomplishing and 3 things you’re dreading to accomplish.
Write down any emotions that you have about the day. Describe in a sentence or two if you are excited, worried or unhappy about a task. Write a sentence or two describing the ideal way you wish your day would unfold.
Check in during the day to see make sure you stay on top of your list. At the end of the day, review your to do/goal list and cross off your accomplishments. Each time you check one off, say aloud, I said I was going to accomplish this and I did it! For the goals you did not meet, jot down the reason why, be honest.
Write down any emotions that you have about how the day went. Recap if the day proceeded as you expected or not and add how you feel about it.
The Action Plan helps you to learn to set goals, focus on them and accomplish then. When you create a habitual sense of accomplishment for daily tasks, you are learning to keep your word to yourself. If you say your going to accomplish something, you do it! You are developing the skill of establishing your word as law. Once you train yourself to do what you say for small, seemingly trivial tasks, then you will accomplish bigger goals with ease because you have already established the pattern that you always do what you say. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you fail to accomplish your tasks, but do be honest with yourself about why they didn’t get done. If you were being lazy, then vow to do better the next day. Any unfinished tasks, spill over to the next day, so they greet you again and again until you decide to face them. It is important to always bring it on- bring enthusiasm, conviction, and sincerity to your goals, regardless of how small they seem or how much you may dread doing them. Always approach your tasks with the intention of accomplishing them, with positive energy and with determination and always congratulate yourself for a job well done.
